Administrative Intern

Hours Needed: 15/week

Reports To: Operations Associate

Location: NYC B2THEWORLD Office

Category: Unpaid Part-time internship, 15 hours a week  for one semester(continuation of internship could be considered).

Job Overview: The Administrative Intern will support the efforts to advance the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD at the NYC B2THEWORLD Office under the training and supervision of B2THEWORLD’s Operations Associate. 

Job Summary: The Administrative Intern will support the efforts to advance the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD in regard to the operations of the organization. This position is responsible for administrative and development operational duties, with a focus on supporting an excellent, mission-driven global team and partnerships to combat the generational impacts of war through the power of education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In order to promote and fulfill the vision, mission andvalues of B2THEWORLD, you will:

  • Process mail and donations

  • Create tax deductible donation receipts

  • Address any B2THEWORLD inquiries through phone calls, website and email

  • Assist with email management for CEO

  • Schedule meetings for CEO and other staff as needed

  • Special projects as assigned by the Operations Associate

  • Draft letters and other communications writing, including reviewing, proofreading, and editing documents

  • Manage CEO’s calendar

  • Attend B2THEWORLD intern meetings

Campus Ambassador Intern

Hours Needed: 15/week

Reports To: Portfolio Specialist

Location: based on campus location

Category: Unpaid Part-time internship, 15 hours a week for one semester (continuation of internship could be considered).

Job Overview: The Campus Ambassador Intern will support the efforts to advance the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD in the location that will be determined.

Job Summary: The Campus Ambassador Intern will support the efforts to advance the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD on their respective college campus.  The Campus Ambassador Intern will work alongside our Portfolio Specialist & Operations Associate to organize at least two events, create a marketing and development plan for their campus, work with college organizations, ministries and churches on and near their campus, and help create a fundraising plan for one of B2THEWORLD’s projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In order to promote and fulfill the vision, mission andvalues of B2THEWORLD, you will:

  • Work with Portfolio Specialist to plan and execute local events.    
    •   Detailed planning and promotion of 2 events for 2024.  
    •   Writing thank you notes for events.    
    •   Plan and execute 2 events of your own.

  • Work with Portfolio Specialist to engage local churches and college campuses.    
    •  Meet and share the vision and mission of B2THEWORLD with pastors, campus ministry leaders and other campus organizations on your campus.    
    •  Present opportunities for collaboration throughout your campus – staff placements, events, fundraising, prayer coordination, etc.      
    •  Develop an engagement strategy for college students and graduates from your campus to serve with B2THEWORLD’s vision and mission.

  • Support Portfolio Specialist in thanking current partners.      
    •  Work with the Portfolio Specialist and our communications manager to develop personal and creative ways to thank each financial partner.

  • Attend regular development team meetings and intern meetings via conference call.

Communications Intern

Hours Needed: 15/week

Reports To: Communications Specialist in Rwanda

Location: NYC B2THEWORLD Office

Department: Administration

Category: Unpaid Part-time internship, 15 hours a week  for one semester(continuation of internship could be considered).

Job Overview: The Communications Intern will support the efforts to advance the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD through campaign projects, developing stories and updates for B2THEWORLD supporters. 

Job Summary: The Communications Intern will work alongside B2THEWORLD’s Communications Specialist to develop and execute internal and external communications including presentations, social media, emails, recurring updates, and other writing and communications. The Communications intern will also be responsible for visual identity and visual content creation of the B2THEWORLD brand. You will be expected to collaborate with the Communications Specialist on a real-life campaign project and develop an overall marketing strategy. In this role, you will target audiences in specific contexts, guided by B2THEWORLD’s overall objectives and strategies. You will collaborate with the Operations Associate on creating either an event or campaign to increase engagement and grow our donor base. This role is for someone who has a pulse of current social media trends and is confident in how to grow our overall online presence. With a focus on producing excellent and on-brand visual creative assets (videography, graphic design, etc), you will play a significant role in telling the B2THEWORLD story.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In order to promote and fulfill the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD, you will:

  • Guide how the organization talks about B2THEWORLD’s work around the world by sourcing and developing compelling content from B2THEWORLD schools

  • Identify and develop stories and news items on B2THEWORLD schools for B2THEWORLD headquarters materials such as fundraising pieces, powerpoint presentations, B2THEWORLD speeches, quarterly reports, website updates

  • Maintain a file containing articles in newspapers and other resources to use for the B2THEWORLD story and why we serve in the countries we do

  • Conduct field research and write issue-focused stories to highlight B2THEWORLD’s work

  • Research, compile and analyze information of use for the office in the area of communications

  • Develop documents based on studies, surveys and interviews of information subjects

  • Serve as an internal, entrepreneurial reporter to capture the stories and news items that describe the work of B2THEWORLD

  • Visual content creation

  • Raise awareness of high quality education in war-torn countries through promotional campaigns and other mass-communication tools and media mix strategies

  • Provide support for the development of a sustainable marketing and strategy for transformative education

Development Intern

Reports To: Operations Associate & Portfolio Specialist

Location: NYC B2THEWORLD Office

Category: Unpaid Part-time internship, 15 hours a week  for one semester(continuation of internship could be considered).

Job Overview: The Development Intern will support the efforts to advance the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD. This role will give support to the Development Department by collaborating on a summer campaign to increase visibility to potential donors and increase our donor base. You will be a critical part of helping spread the B2THEWORLD vision and mission. This role requires someone who is a learner and eager to take on challenges head on.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In order to promote and fulfill the vision, mission andvalues of B2THEWORLD, you will:

  • Team collaboration

  • Develop and execute summer development strategy

  • Increase brand awareness by telling the B2THEWORLD story to potential donors

Student Mobilization Intern

Hours Needed: 15/week

Reports To: Operations Associate

Location: NYC B2THEWORLD Office

Category: Full year, unpaid part-time internship, 15 hours a week (continuation of internship could be considered).

Job Overview: The Student Mobilization Intern will support the efforts to advance the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD through youth groups (school clubs, small group, bible studies etc.). 

Job Summary: The Student Mobilization Intern will support the efforts to advance the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD.  The Student Mobilization Intern will work alongside our Operations Associate to mobilize the next generation of leaders for B2THEWORLD’s mission through awareness and advocacy for B2THEWORLD’s projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In order to promote and fulfill the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD, you will:

  • Attend local youth groups

  • Develop youth group curriculum to bring awareness to B2THEWORLD mission and causes    
    •  Develop small group devotional for students to be mobilized to lead a group on their own

  • Conduct outreach activities including formulation of information and tools through social media

  • Handle inquiries from students, companies and the general public

  • Produce communication materials such as flyers, posters, videos and presentations

QUALIFICATIONS:

Executive Research Intern

Hours Needed: 15/week

Reports To: Operations Associate

Category: Unpaid Part-time internship, 15 hours a week  for one semester(continuation of internship could be considered).

Job Overview: The executive research intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with B2THEWORLD Operations Associate on research projects to inform B2THEWORLD CEO &Co-founder, Dr. Benjamin Thomas’s writing and speaking engagements.

Job Summary: The executive research internship is a research-intensive role that provides the opportunity to collaborate with B2THEWORLD Operations Associate.  Ben has 4 books that are being birthed in his heart. The goal for this internship is to complete assignments that involve research and writing to support Ben’s book writing and writing of research articles. Additionally, you would work with the Operations Associate to submit your assignments and receive advice or insight on how to help build Ben’s writing and published works.  The executive research intern will research, draft, edit and provide support to writing projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the executive research intern, you would promote and fulfill the vision, mission and values of B2THEWORLD.  Additionally:

  • Research:
    •  Find statistics related to war (specifically in the countries we are praying to work in)
    •  Discover research articles on:          
    •  the impact of war on children
    •  education in the countries we are praying to work ino Develop country profiles for B2THEWORLD country list

  • Writing and editing:
    •  Move ideas to outlines, outlines to paragraphs, paragraphs to chapters with Ben’s materials. Starting first with his finished dissertation and expanding to his book and/or his research article.  
    •  Assist in brainstorming, researching, organizing, developing, drafting and editing editorial content for writing projects.
    •  Assist in editing key B2THEWORLD documents.
    •  Assist in exploring various landing places for written content.

  • Collaboration:
    •  Work with the Operations Associate to receive feedback on research found.
    •  Report to Operations Associate when submitting assignments with respect to deadlines
    •  Attend and contribute to B2 intern meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess their own laptop or technology device to perform research

  • Ability to conduct high-level research and think strategically.

Volunteer

Prayer Coordinator

Hours Needed: 5/week

The Prayer Coordinator would develop a prayer strategy for B2THEWORLD. Working hand-in-hand with the CEO, the Prayer Coordinator Intern would collect prayer needs from throughout the organization — staff, partners, projects — and develop systematic ways for prayer to be embedded throughout the organization. Additionally, working with the CEO, the Prayer Coordinator would work to identify short-term and long-term prayer items to be covered on a daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create a Prayer Strategy

  • Identify short-term & long-term prayer requests

  • Spend daily time praying for the work of B2THEWORLD

  • Organizing Prayer

  • Collecting various prayer requests and distributing them in strategic and creative ways

  • Growing our Prayer Network. Working to grow our base of partners to regularly add to our prayer network.
